Reclaim your life after opioid use
Medication Assisted Treatment for Opioid Use Disorder

Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) is used to treat opioid use disorder by substituting the use of opioid such as heroin and prescription pain relievers with provider-monitored medications, such as Suboxone®, that reduce withdrawal effect and help prevent opioid overdose.

Our MAT program provides evidence based support to effectively reduce opioid misuse and symptoms related to opioid use disorder. Our approach is harm reduction based, nonjudgmental, low barrier, and client centered. It reduces the likelihood of continued drug use, overdose, and infectious disease transmission.

Medication Assisted Treatment FAQs

DO NOT DELETE
Will I be kicked out of the program if I relapse?

No. We expect that relapse will occur in many of our patients on the road to fulfilling their goals.

Will I have to have urine drug screening?

We will ask you to undergo screening periodically to assure that you are getting buprenorphine into your system and to be able to discuss with you any drugs or medications you might be taking that pose a risk to you.

Do you provide transition to Vivitrol?

Not at this time. We hope to provide this in the future if our staff increases.

Why don’t you offer buprenorphine without naloxone (Subutex)?

Buprenorphine “monotherapy” (Subutex) requires substantially more patient monitoring, which is not possible with our limited staff.

Is there an expected length of time for someone to be on buprenorphine/naloxone?

No. Research studies show that more patients are able to maintain higher quality lives when they remain on buprenorphine/ naloxone for over a year.

Is there anyone that you cannot enroll?

Yes. Anyone who is pregnant or anticipating pregnancy, those currently on methadone, anyone with side-effects from buprenorphine/naloxone (Suboxone), and anyone under the age of 15.
