Marchand Vorderstrasse

Marchand Vorderstrasse serves as the Director of Homeless Outreach for The Salvation Army in Coos County, Oregon, where she leads frontline outreach, engagement, and coordinated service navigation efforts for individuals experiencing homelessness and housing instability across rural communities on Oregon’s South Coast.

Through her work with the Salvation Army’s Mobile Outreach Program, Marchand has helped build pathways connecting vulnerable individuals and families to shelter, healthcare, behavioral health services, housing resources, and long-term stability. Her work focuses heavily on street outreach, relationship-building, Coordinated Entry support, housing readiness, and systems coordination for individuals experiencing homelessness, behavioral health challenges, substance use disorders, and extreme poverty.

Marchand serves on the Board of Directors for the Oregon Balance of State Continuum of Care and is actively involved with the SPARC Network, helping strengthen regional collaboration and systems development efforts focused on homelessness response, housing access, and coordinated care across rural Oregon communities. She also serves on the board for Unity Homes and is involved with the Bandon Pastoral Association and Connecting Point initiatives supporting vulnerable populations and community partnerships.

In addition to her nonprofit and outreach leadership work, Marchand is the owner of Pathfinder Collective and works as a consultant and trainer with Homeless Solutions Consultants, where she helps support rural communities, outreach teams, and emerging shelter systems through technical assistance, training, and systems coordination strategies. She regularly networks and collaborates with outreach providers and homelessness response teams throughout the state of Oregon.

Her passion for service is rooted in compassion, dignity, and relationship-building with people who are often overlooked or underserved. She is especially passionate about rural homelessness response, outreach system development, and helping communities build coordinated pathways from crisis to stability and housing.

Outside of her professional work, Marchand is a proud grandmother of four and has been married for 21 years. She values family, faith, community connection, and creating spaces where people feel seen, supported, and valued.
