Medication Assisted Treatment for Opioid Use Disorder

What is MAT?

Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) is used to treat opioid use disorder by substituting the use of opioid such as heroin and prescription pain relievers with provider-monitored medications that reduce withdrawal effect and help prevent opioid overdose.

What is the ACW’s MAT program?

Our MAT program provides evidence based support to effectively reduce opioid misuse and symptoms related to opioid use disorder. Our approach is harm reduction based, nonjudgmental, low barrier, and client centered. It reduces the likelihood of continued drug use, overdose, and infectious disease transmission.

What types of medications are provided?

The ACW’s MAT program prescribes Suboxone®.

Is telehealth available?

Appointments may be made in-person or through telehealth using a secure video link. If you don’t have access to the internet and have a telehealth visit scheduled, we can arrange for you to use a computer in a confidential space at our office.
