World AIDS Day – Coos Bay

The South Coast Health Equity Coalition (SCHEC), in partnership with HIV Alliance, Southern Oregon Coast Pride, and the Egyptian Theatre, is honored to host this year’s World AIDS Day commemoration on December 1, 2025, from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM. This annual observance unites community members, advocates, and partner organizations in remembrance, awareness, and collective action toward ending the HIV epidemic.

As part of the celebration, attendees are invited to a free community movie screening of Paris Is Burning—a groundbreaking documentary that honors the artistry, activism, and legacy of queer and trans Black and Latinx communities. The film’s focus on visibility, chosen family, and resistance reflects the spirit of World AIDS Day and the communities most impacted by the epidemic.
