chances of infection! This is called \u201cPre-exposure prophylaxis\u201d or\u00a0\u201cPrEP\u201d<\/strong>. You can meet with a provider virtually or in person to determine if you are a good candidate for PrEP medication. If so, our provider will work with you to set up all needed testing (HIV, other labs) and provide you with a prescription. In most people, hepatitis C infection is curable with DAAs 90-96% of the time when the medication is taken consistently for the full prescription. You will meet with the provider for at least one appointment to review your treatment plan. Usually your prescription can be issued at your first appointment if you already completed your bloodwork, and may take up to 2 weeks to obtain insurance approval. You will have an assigned Hep C case manager to help you through the treatment process. After taking the treatment, it is\u00a0very important<\/u>\u00a0to be retested for Hepatitis C 12 weeks from finishing.
