He continued researching HIV vaccines in a post-doctoral fellowship at the Oregon National Primate Center. In total he spent over 10 years working on HIV vaccines. Following his fellowship Sean earned a post-bac in accounting from Portland State University. He worked in public accounting for 4 years and then moved to the Portland VA Research Foundation as Executive Director. He served as Executive Director for over two years.
