Sean completed a PhD in Molecular Virology and Microbiology from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine with a focus on HIV vaccine development. He continued researching HIV vaccines in a post-doctoral fellowship at the Oregon National Primate Center. In total he spent over 10 years working on HIV vaccines. Following his fellowship Sean earned a post-bac in accounting from Portland State University. He worked in public accounting for 4 years and then moved to the Portland VA Research Foundation as Executive Director. He served as Executive Director for over two years. Sean returned to public accounting and has continued to work as a CPA since 2022
